Polar Pak traces to Par-Pak Ltd., a small Toronto thermoformer that CEO Sajjad Ebrahim acquired in 1977 and built over the following decades into an international bakery, produce, and foodservice packaging supplier. In August 2013, The Waddington Group (WNA) acquired Par-Pak and merged its sales organization with WNA's existing Polar Plastics division under the unified Polar Pak name, while the two companies' Canadian manufacturing plants continued operating separately. Today Polar Pak operates as a Novolex brand, with offices and plants in Brampton, Ontario and Montreal (St-Laurent), Quebec, manufacturing clear PET and other plastic containers for food processors, bakeries, grocery, catering, take-out, retail, and hospitality customers, including the catering trays, lazy susans, and hinged cake, pie, and loaf containers AFS Marketplace carries from the brand. The company also offers custom products and custom printing services, and distributes complementary WNA and Eco-Products lines for one-stop-shopping convenience. Polar Pak states that all of its manufacturing plants are BRC and Kosher certified, with materials approved for food contact and facilities subject to regular independent audits.
